What is included in an exterior painting quote?
Your exterior painting quote is based on the surfaces being painted, their condition, preparation requirements and access. How do you prepare a house exterior before painting?
Exterior preparation depends on the surface and its existing condition. Where appropriate, preparation may begin with pressure washing or high-pressure cleaning to remove dirt, surface contamination and other material that could interfere with the coating system.
Further preparation may include removing loose or failing paint, sanding, filling cracks and gaps, minor surface repairs and priming bare, repaired or problem areas where required. Weatherboard, render, masonry, timber and metal surfaces are assessed individually rather than using the same preparation process everywhere.
Can you paint weatherboard, render and previously painted brick?

Because these substrates behave differently, we assess the existing surface and select the preparation, primer or sealer and exterior coating system accordingly.
What happens if it rains during exterior painting?
Exterior painting is planned around suitable weather conditions. If rain, excessive moisture or other conditions could affect preparation, adhesion or the finish, that stage of the work may need to be rescheduled.
We would rather adjust the programme than apply a coating when the surface or weather conditions are not suitable.
How long does it take to paint the exterior of a house?
It depends on the size and height of the property, the number of surfaces included, their condition, preparation requirements, access and the weather.
A straightforward single-storey repaint will naturally differ from a multi-storey home requiring more extensive preparation or more complex access. We assess these factors before the project and provide a realistic expected timeframe with the scope.
